Dallas @ New Orleans
Current Records: Dallas 7-4; New Orleans 5-6
What to Know
The New Orleans Saints’ homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Dallas Cowboys at 8:20 p.m. ET Dec. 2 at Caesars Superdome. Given that these two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
It looks like the Saints got the smaller half of the wishbone at Thanksgiving dinner. Their bruising 31-6 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Thursday might stick with them for a while. New Orleans was down 24 to nothing at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. RB Tony Jones had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: he rushed for 27 yards on 16 carries.
Meanwhile, Dallas fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result, falling 36-33. The Cowboys didn’t live up to their potential and found themselves falling short of the 7-point advantage oddsmakers thought they had coming into the game. A silver lining for them was the play of QB Dak Prescott, who passed for two TDs and 375 yards on 47 attempts. Prescott had some trouble finding his footing against the Kansas City Chiefs last week, so this was a step in the right direction.
The Saints are now 5-6 while Dallas sits at 7-4. Two offensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: New Orleans is stumbling into the game with the fourth fewest passing yards per game in the league, having accrued only 209.9 on average. The Cowboys’ offense has more to brag about, as they they enter the matchup with 419.8 yards per game on average, which is the best in the NFL.
