Buffalo @ Ball State
Current Records: Buffalo 4-7; Ball State 5-6
What to Know
The Ball State Cardinals and the Buffalo Bulls are set to square off in a Mid-American matchup at 7 p.m. ET Nov. 23 at Scheumann Stadium. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they’ll have plenty of motivation to get the ‘W.’
The Cardinals received a tough blow on Wednesday as they fell 37-17 to the Central Michigan Chippewas. Ball State’s defeat came about despite a quality game from RB Carson Steele, who punched in one rushing touchdown.
Meanwhile, Buffalo fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Northern Illinois Huskies on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result, falling 33-27. The matchup was a 10-10 toss-up at halftime, but the Bulls were outplayed the rest of the way. A silver lining for them was the play of RB Dylan McDuffie, who rushed for one TD and 125 yards on 29 carries.
The losses put the Cardinals at 5-6 and Buffalo at 4-7. Two defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Ball State is 210th worst in the nation in rushing touchdowns allowed, with 21 on the season. Buffalo has experienced some rushing struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the game with the 234th most rushing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 26 on the season. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
