Los Angeles @ Philadelphia
Current Records: Los Angeles 4-3; Philadelphia 3-5
What to Know
The Philadelphia Eagles will be returning home after a two-game road trip. They will take on the Los Angeles Chargers at 4:05 p.m. ET next Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field. The Eagles will be strutting in after a victory while Los Angeles will be stumbling in from a defeat.
Philadelphia took their game on the road on Sunday with ease, bagging a 44-6 win over the Detroit Lions. The oddsmakers were on Philadelphia’s side, but they didn’t give the squad enough credit as the margin was unexpectedly wide. They relied on the efforts of RB Boston Scott, who punched in two rushing touchdowns, and RB Jordan Howard, who punched in two rushing touchdowns.
Philadelphia’s defense was a presence as well, as it embarrassed Detroit’s offensive line to sack the quarterback six times for a total loss of 51 yards. Leading the way was DE Josh Sweat and his two sacks. Sweat now has 3.5 sacks through eight games.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but the Chargers had to settle for a 27-24 loss against the New England Patriots on Sunday. The losing side was boosted by RB Austin Ekeler, who punched in one rushing touchdown. Ekeler had some trouble finding his footing against the Baltimore Ravens two weeks ago, so this was a step in the right direction.
The Eagles’ victory brought them up to 3-5 while Los Angeles’ loss pulled them down to 4-3. Philadelphia is 0-2 after wins this season, and Los Angeles is 1-1 after losses.
