NFL DFS, Week 8: Top FanDuel, DraftKings daily Fantasy football picks, stacks, lineup advice

The Cincinnati Bengals have been one of the most pleasant surprises in the NFL so far this season and sit at 5-2, good for first place in the AFC North. Joe Burrow, Joe Mixon and Ja’Marr Chase have formed one of the most dynamic QB-RB-WR trios in the league and NFL DFS players have benefited by including them in their NFL DFS stacks. This week, the Bengals are 11-point favorites over the Jets in the latest NFL odds at Caesars Sportsbook and could be a core part of NFL DFS lineups on sites like DraftKings and FanDuel.

If the Bengals jump out to an early lead, it would seemingly favor Mixon, but could limit Burrow and Chase’s upside. So should you include them in your Week 8 NFL DFS strategy, and who else in the NFL DFS player pool should be in consideration? Before locking in your NFL DFS picks for Week 8, be sure to check out the NFL DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.

McClure is a legendary professional DFS player with almost $2 million in career winnings. His methodology has led to enormous cashes on FanDuel and DraftKings. He took down two high-stakes tournaments on FanDuel in 2020 and recorded a pair top-10 finishes in tournaments with over 130,000 entrants on DraftKings. His lineups also finished inside the top 1 percent in more than a dozen other tournaments last season.

He uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every snap of NFL action, taking factors such as matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account. This allows him to find the best DFS values that he shares only with members at SportsLine.

Now, McClure has turned his attention to Week 8 and locked in his top daily Fantasy football picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NFL DFS picks for Week 8

One of McClure’s top NFL DFS picks for Week 8 is Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell ($5,000 on DraftKings and $5,900 on FanDuel). After garnering attention in the preseason, Gainwell has a chance to make a Fantasy impact after Miles Sanders sustained a sprained ankle that will keep him out for at least a few weeks.

Gainwell should carry the most value in the Eagles’ backfield since he was already the most targeted running back in the passing game with 31 on the season. Even though he’s only had four carries in the red zone, Gainwell has the most rushing yards for the Eagles inside the opponents’ 20-yard line (22), and the most passing targets from the position (six). Gainwell already had a relatively significant role in the Eagles’ offense, which is likely to grow in Week 8 against a Detroit defense that has allowed the second-most Fantasy points to opposing running backs.

Part of McClure’s optimal NFL DFS strategy also includes rostering 49ers receiver Deebo Samuel ($7,400 DraftKings, $7,800 FanDuel), who posted a 7-100-1 stat line last week vs. Indianapolis. Samuel has established himself as the clear No. 1 in San Francisco with 63 targets, more than doubling anybody else on the team. Samuel has been targeted at least eight times in every game and had at least 52 yards in every contest.

While that floor helps alleviate some stress for NFL DFS players on FanDuel and DraftKings, his ceiling makes him a must-roster. Samuel already has three games this season with at least seven catches for 100 yards and a touchdown. Now, he’ll take on a Bears secondary that gave up 20-plus points on DraftKings to two receivers last week in a blowout loss to the Buccaneers.
